Sales Spotlight: Jeff Ake
Favorite ivision Client Engagement Value: I am passionate about learning and growth.
I think a perpetual beginner’s mindset is really important for keeping work and life from becoming stale. If you are always looking for new things to learn and new ways to improve, things will always be interesting.
Jeff’s Career Journey:
I spent most of my adult life teaching jiu jitsu, competing in jiu jitsu and running a jiu jitsu school. When it was time to move on to the next phase in life, the kind people at Carve Systems generously adopted a 36-year-old man without much of a professional resume. In 2021, ivision acquired Carve, and we’ve been working together to deliver innovative cybersecurity solutions for clients.
Favorite Part of the Job
I get to work with so many intelligent and capable internal and external partners.
Favorite ivision/Client Event:
CarveCon is really, really cool. The members of the offensive cybersecurity consulting team are among the most respected in their field in the world. The team is remote first, so it’s awesome to not only see the research ideas they are working on, but also get to spend time together in person.
Community Involvement:
My wife and I are avid supporters of an organization called WeeCycle that gets essential baby gear to families in need.
Fun Fact:
One of my hobbies is trolling telephonic social engineering scammers by trying to get them to purchase iTunes gift cards for me or make deposits on my behalf at bitcoin ATMs.
