What inspired you to become an Engineer?
Seeing a data center in house for the first time. It was like nothing else I had ever seen before, and for whatever reason I knew I was meant to see it.
Amaziah’s Career Journey
Started as a slot technician at a casino in Louisiana and was punching down cable before I knew where it ultimately ended up. Fast forward a few years, and I was introduced to networking in a program in college that partnered with a company called Rackspace. Our professors were people who had been in the field and were attaining something called a CCIE level certification at the time. Fast forward again, and one of my instructors in college left and was a manager at my first Engineering job (someone else hired me although he would have). That was when I knew this is a small circle. Continued in the field, garnered invaluable relationships, and six years later I am at ivision.
What is your favorite part of the job?
Interacting with my teammates. Assisting my teammates with whatever they may need me to handle. It ultimately keeps the customer happy, but in the process my teammates are happy as well.
What’s a fun fact about yourself that others might find interesting?
I really like Psychology and Biology.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I really like fitness and reading.
