Transforming Tomorrow: Cristo Rey and ivision

The Cristo Rey Jesuit school network began in 1996 as a way to provide opportunities to students in underprivileged areas. Upon acceptance, they would receive a high-quality private Catholic education in exchange for working five days a week in an entry-level job. Not only does this provide students with access to educational advantages, but also real-world career development opportunities.

Upon acceptance, they would receive a high-quality private Catholic education in exchange for working five days a week in an entry-level job. Not only does this provide students with access to educational advantages, but also real-world career development opportunities.

In 2014, ivision was given the chance to become a work-study partner and sponsor. ivision’s CEO, Gabe Damiani, and President, David Degitz, were already looking to partner with an organization that allowed them to be more involved than simply writing a check. Cristo Rey Atlanta was just the right solution and ivision joined 40 other organizations to employ these hard-working students and help transform their futures.

Over the past four years, ivision has employed 16 students with great success. Both the students and the company have learned and grown together. One student, Destiny McLeod, worked with ivision her freshman year and chose to return as a senior. David, Gabe, and Destiny have each seen her transform from a reserved underclassman to a confident young woman, ready to tackle her bright future.

A Snapshot of Success

In 2018, Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School has:

  • ivision work-study alumni are attending:
    • Penn State

On behalf of everyone at ivision, we are so grateful to be involved with this organization and honored to have played a part in these young peoples’ lives.
