Autism Speaks 5k Run at Piedmont Park

In November, ivision staff participated in the annual “Autism Speaks 5k Run” at Piedmont Park along with ivision client, Bradley and Kimberly Dick of Resurgens.

I had the great opportunity, and pleasure in being a part of the team from ivision to participate in this event. The money raised went directly to research for Autism Speaks scientists, that in turn drive awareness and push for early screenings of autism. One of the main focuses this year was to increase awareness for Ava’s Law: a bill underway in Georgia designed to make mandatory an insurance company’s obligation to cover the costs of autism treatment for their subscribers. Since the 5k took place, the bill was able to amass the signatures needed to proceed to the state capitol for consideration.
