Challenge

The challenge involves replacing Meraki Firewalls and Wireless Access Points at various Logistic Center (TLC) locations. Currently, 73 locations are using an HA pair of MX84 model Meraki firewalls, which will go end of support in October 2026. Additionally, the organization has nine hundred sixty-nine MR74 model wireless access points and one hundred ten MR33 model wireless access points that will go end of support in July 2026. The goal is to replace these devices in two separate phases over the course of two years.

Solution

The solution provided involves replacing the existing Meraki Firewalls with new Firewalls and Wireless Access Points. Prior to this engagement, a detailed project plan and timeline were created through a discovery, planning, design, and logistics engagement. The replacement of wireless access points and firewalls was strategically scheduled to minimize disruption. Additionally, pictures of all infrastructure were taken, and every UPS was validated for network connectivity. The project was executed in phases, with the first phase covering 37 remote sites.
