Building a Secure Azure Foundation to Support Cloud Migration
Challenge
Client needed to migrate on‑premises workloads, including remote desktop services, infrastructure servers, and Microsoft SQL workloads, to Microsoft Azure. They wanted to establish a secure, scalable Azure foundation aligned with Microsoft best practices. They also wanted to validate migration strategies, costs, and operational readiness through a limited proof of concept before broader cloud adoption.
Solution
ivison designed and deployed a Microsoft Azure foundation (landing zone) using the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework approach. We assessed and migrated a subset of workloads, including virtual machines and Azure Virtual Desktop components, to Azure as a proof of concept. We also delivered migration assessments, cost modeling, runbooks, and as‑built documentation to support future cloud expansion and operational readiness.
