What inspired you to become an Engineer?

It all started in the US Army where I found that truly enjoyed communications, troubleshooting and most importantly solving problems.

James’ Career Journey

ivision was the perfect fit for me at this point in my career. I have been all over the place in IT in the past 28 years, from the US military to my first two NOCs, to Project Management, Service Management, AV, WiFi and lighting. I have seen a little of everything and was proud to come back to the NOC.

What is your favorite part of the job?

Being part of a true team again, that genuinely cares for each other and our clients. It’s infectious, and I am proud to play my role in delivering an exceptional customer experience and building customers for life.

What’s a fun fact about yourself that others might find interesting?

I always loved raising my two children, three nephews and two nieces, but becoming a grandfather (Papa) is very satisfying. All the lessons I learned from being a father I can apply now as a granddad and do an even better job. Plus, I get to send them home to their mom and dad spoiled, but with life lessons.

What do you like to do outside of work?

Now that my wife and I are empty nesters, we enjoy our time together, when we aren’t with grandkids, we are walking nature trails, boating and fishing fresh and saltwater, raising our two fur babies (one dog and one cat), working in our yard (five acres is a lot to deal with) and cooking.
