How to Remain Vigilant This Cybersecurity Awareness Month

In 2004, the President and U.S. Congress declared October as Cybersecurity Awareness Month. Since then, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and National Cybersecurity Alliance (NCA) have used this as an opportunity to help people protect themselves and their businesses online as threats continue to become more complex. As a Cybersecurity Awareness Month partner, ivision joins in these efforts to help both individuals and businesses protect their data.

This year’s theme is “See Yourself in Cyber,” promoting the ideology that cybersecurity applies to all of us. When it comes down to it, there are four key practices everyone can implement in their daily lives to promote stronger cybersecurity:

  1. Enable multi-factor authentication
  2. Use strong passwords
  3. Recognize and report phishing
  4. Update your software

“ivision cybersecurity helps you take that initiative and break it down between your core networks, your applications, how people use it, integrate the policies and procedures around multi-factor authentication, and ultimately put in place a solution that works for you,” John Hudson, Cybersecurity Practice Director said. “So, we assess your risk of your organization and then put the right solution based upon that.”

In addition to the four core areas above, ivision can help promote best security practices throughout this month and beyond.
