Jeremy Likness, 7-time Microsoft MVP, Host of “Beyond the Hype” Webinar
iVision, a full service technology firm, announced the launch of monthly live webinars focused on helping IT leaders cut through the hype about technology trends and identify innovations that can drive business goals. The first webinar, was held on Wednesday, June 8 and led by iVision’s Application Development Practice Manager, Jeremy Likness, a seven-time Microsoft MVP. The session, titled #DevOps, #Microservices, #IoT: Beyond the Hype took a critical look at the latest innovations in software development and delivery. A recording of the session and summary article can be found on ivision.com.
Likness explored advances in automation and methods of collaboration-shaping software development and operations, or DevOps. Using best-practices case studies and real-world examples of successes and failures, Likness guided webinar participants through:
How to do a reality check on the business value of new tools, techniques and trends
How to gauge whether DevOps innovations could address your business needs
What to expect from a DevOps implementation
David Degitz, president and chief operating officer of iVision, explained the impetus for the new monthly webinar series: “Our clients and industry are in constant transition. We hear from chief information officers who are familiar with the latest IT trends but feel they lack full insight into the potential impact on their business. They also tell us they’re at a loss as to how to get started capitalizing on the innovations that could help them reach their goals. With these webinars, we will break down the value vs. hype of some of these trends. Using an online platform allows us to serve a much larger audience. We’re excited about the program’s potential to help organizations make better-informed decisions about IT.”
